First Year Experience Student Activities

Polk State’s Student Activities and Leadership Office (SALO) has developed a series of events and programs that are specifically targeted to entertain, engage, and educate the members of the incoming freshman class. Some of these activities include:

• Freshmen Welcome Party, hosted by student clubs and campus organizations, educates freshmen about student activities and how participation can benefit a student’s experience and assist in college success.
• First-week-of-the-month socials, workshops, leadership programs, and meaningful community service projects that are student-centered.

Polk State College also offers online students the ability to be involved in College activities. The Virtual Student Center provides engaging opportunities that enable all to participate.
